The Robert W. Van Houten Library lends iPad2s and peripheral equipment to NJIT students for in-library use and to NJIT faculty for 24-hour use. The iPad Lending Program encourages the use of mobile technology and portable devices to access online resources.
General Information
Present your current NJIT-ID card with a library barcode to the staff at the Circulation Desk. Your NJIT-ID will be kept until iPad is returned undamaged.
iPads are available first-come, first-serve basis with a wait list.
For Students: the loan period for an iPad is three (3) hours with one renewal for an additional three (3) hour unless there is a wait list. The iPad may not be taken outside of the library.
For Faculty: the loan period for an iPad is twenty-four (24) hours with no renewals.
Fines and Liability
Borrowers are solely responsible for lost, damaged, theft or more than 24 hours overdue of the iPad + peripherals equipment.
If an iPad is not returned at the end of the loan period, the borrower will be charged a $20.00 per hour late fee, not to exceed $50 within a 24 hours period.
Borrowers will be charged an overdue fee, replacement and processing fees.
Your library borrowing privileges may be revoked if you have unpaid fines and overdue, lost or damaged items, including late return of a borrowed iPad.
