Welcome to the NJIT Library. At NJIT, we are a community of makers, innovators, researchers, and learners, and the Library is one of the places where ideas take shape. Whether you visit the Robert W. Van Houten Library in the Central Avenue Building or the Barbara & Leonard Littman Architecture and Design Library in Weston Hall, you will find a place to study, collaborate, conduct research, explore ideas, and create new knowledge. You can also visit simply to connect with others or find a comfortable place between classes. Most importantly, we want every student to know that the Library is a place where they belong.
Our work reflects the spirit of NJIT Makes and the university’s commitment to student and faculty success, research, innovation, and discovery. The University Librarian serves as the chief academic and administrative officer of the NJIT Library, providing strategic leadership for its resources, services, spaces, and programs. Our librarians work closely with students, instructors, faculty, and researchers, providing expertise in research, publishing, research impact, open access, and emerging areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and data science. We help connect people with the information, expertise, and resources they need to turn questions into ideas, ideas into knowledge, and knowledge into impact.
I invite you to make the Library part of your NJIT experience. Stop by, ask questions, share your ideas, or simply find a space that works for you. Stay connected with us on Instagram and Discord. Whatever you are here to learn, discover, research, or create, I look forward to seeing you in the Library and being part of what you make at NJIT.
