Equipment Lending: iPads
The Robert W. Van Houten Library has introduced a new service, an iPad Lending Program for NJIT students and faculty.
Who can borrow?
NJIT students and faculty only.
For how long?
Students - three (3) hours in-library use with one renewal if there is no one waiting.
Faculty - twenty-four (24) hours with no renewals.
What am I borrowing?
An iPad2 and smart cover, or
A package that include an Ipad2, smart cover, iPad box, power adaptor, charging/synching cable and VGA cable
How do I know if one is available?
The iPads are wireless-ready and come with some preloaded free apps. See availability.
How can I check one out?
Present your current NJIT-ID card with a library barcode to the staff at the Circulation Desk at the Van Houten Library. Review and sign the iPad Equipment Liability Agreement form. Your NJIT-ID will be kept (students only) until iPad is returned undamaged. Please note that iPads are available ona "first-come, first-serve" basis with a wait list.
What about checking it back in?
Return the iPad and all components to the staff at the Circulation Desk at the end of the loan period.; An overdue fine of $20.00 per hour will be charged and will not exceed $50.00 within 24 hours period.
Borrowers are solely responsible for and if lost, damaged, or overdue iPad and component package. See overdue, replacement and processing fee below. View iPad Policy for detail information.

All downloaded programs and apps will be erased from the iPad when returned.

Never leave any equipment such as iPads, Flip Video Camera, TeamSpot Laptop, or peripherals you have checked out unattended in any location, as you are solely responsible for any loss and damage charges.
All personal information, browser history, cookies and cache will be removed before the iPad is lend to the next borrower.
