Alumni @ NJIT: Library Privileges

Learning is a lifetime pursuit. The Van Houten Library aimes at providing access to quality information resources in support of alumni’s life-long learning after graduation.

All alumni have access to the Van Houten Library. You are welcome to visit and browse the collections. While visiting you may borrow books from the circulating and reserve collections; use one of our public workstations to access our digital collections such as research databases, e-books, e-journals and much more.

We have also developed a suite of resources that will allow you to continue to enjoy the benefits you had as a student such as accessing freely available online resources from your home or anywhere you have an internet connection.

You may present your NJIT Alumni card along with a photo ID at the Circulation desk of the Van Houten library and you will be issued an alumni library card.

While licensing restrictions do not allow alumni off-campus access to subscribed databases that are available to current students, faculty and staff; alumni may now access JSTOR archive content that has been licensed by the Van Houten library thanks to NJIT's participation in JSTOR's Alumni Access Pilot Program.

The librarians have compiled a list of useful, freely available resources from both public and private organizations. They are arranged by broad subject categories and are updated frequently. Bookmark your favorites. If you know of a great resource make a suggestions for an addition to the collection.
