Using Keyword Searching

There are some good tools you can use in keyword searching.

Connectors, such as AND, OR, and NOT, sometimes called Boolean operators Truncation or wildcards symbols (*, ?) used to replace one or more characters in word. Nesting, helps organize your search

computer AND mathematics narrows a search; all concepts must be present in the records.

computer OR mathematics broadens a search; all concept must be present in the records.

wom?n: will return records with the word woman, women, or womyn.

environ* will return records on environment, environments, environmental.

alcohol AND (adolescents OR teenagers) will retrieve records on alcohol and adolescents, as well as items on alcohol and teenagers.
