Robert W Van Houten Library

How do I find out if my professor has put materials on reserve for my course?

All reserve materials are held behind the circulation desk. Most materials have a 2 hour Use in Library only borrowing period. Some may have a borrowing period of  one (1) or seven (7) days.

Reserve Materials owned by the Library
If a book in the library catalog states the location is Circulation Desk (usually Reserve material), write down the call number and bring it to the circulation desk.

Reserve Materials owned by professors
A professor might also decide to place his/her own personal copy of a book on Reserve. These books are not in the catalog, but kept behind the circulation desks (at both libraries) by professor's last name.

Note: Consult the reserves binder at the Van Houten Library Circulation desk, organized alphabetically by professor's last name to view a list of books placed on reserve by him/her.
