Personal belongings determined to be lost and turned in to the Circulation Desk or staff at the Van Houten Library fall into two broad categories: high value and low value items. Attempts will be made to contact owners (if known) of lost items.
High Value Items:
To be turned over to NJIT Department of Public Safety daily before the library closes
Cash, Credit and Debit Cards
Purses, Wallets
Cell phones
Jewelry
Laptops and other Electronic Devices
Keys
NJIT Department of Public Safety can be reached at 973-596-3120 regarding lost items. Their headquarters is located at 154 Summit St.
Low Value Items:
To be kept at Van Houten Library’s Circulation Desk
Government and Non-government issued IDs
Books, notebooks
Clothing
USB Drives, Mouse, Headphones, Power Cords
Glasses
Umbrellas
All other items considered to be low value
Low value items not claimed by the end of the semester in which they were turned in will be donated to charity.
